To fix the problem, disable the SafeMoney feature in Kasperksy using the steps described here. We have seen the feature called SafeMoney in Kaspersky cause this behavior.
Most of these applications have a Safe or White list that Snagit can be added to. Norton's CrimeWare, however, does not have an editable safe list like other protection software and must be closed for Snagit to capture an image. We have identified that the following applications can cause problems with capturing the screen with Snagit, however other security software may cause the same issue: The issue is related to security software blocking screen capture.
Turning hardware acceleration on or off will not solve this issue. This hotkey will turn grey scale on or off, so check if it changes the color mode when you apply it.
If all applications are closed and you capture only the desktop with any input set, this problem still occurs. When you accidentally turn on the negative mode and find that your PC screen went black and white without your knowledge, you can quickly revert to color by pressing Windows Key+CTRL+C. This problem happens for all captures and is not related to hardware acceleration like image or video capture from a video. Or, the resulting capture is blank in the Editor. When initiating a capture, the entire screen turns black and only the cross hairs are visible.
